Professional Development Courses - Securitisation Fundamentals

This half-day workshop has been designed to provide an overview of securitisation.  This includes - what it can achieve for issuers and investors alike in terms of funding, capital and diversification; basic structuring principles;  and the role of various participants in a securitisation beyond the issuer and end-investor (i.e. credit rating agencies, trustees, accounting firms, tax advisers, swap providers, back-up servicers, security trustee, legal advisers and arrangers).

The workshop is a case study based programme, bringing to life securitisation terminology and concepts. It should equip participants with a foundation of knowledge of how this sector of the market operates, its purpose and some of the current challenges it faces.

Topics Covered
  • Overview of the process of securitisation
  • How and why the market has developed
  • Key terminology and concepts of securitisation
  • The dominant types of securities produced by securitisation
  • Roles played by key industry participants
  • Advantages and disadvantages of securitisation
  • Current market trends and developments
Who Should Attend

This workshop has been specifically designed for those who are working in securitisation or providing services in related areas, but are not necessarily in securitisation practitioner roles.

If, for example, you are involved in marketing, finance or IT roles within banks, trustees, rating agencies, accounting firms, legal and professional services firms or mortgage originators, then this workshop will assist you to develop your understanding of this industry and core concepts. It is also a logical stepping stone if you hope to become a securitisation practitioner in future and are considering enrolment in the ASF Diploma of Securitisation.
